Lycogel Dermacia was a real lifesaver for me during October –December of 2005. I am a redhead, with a history of burning easily in the summer sun and over the years (I am 55 years old) the sun damage grew to basal cell carcinomas on my face, neck, and chest. After several surgeries and liquid nitrogen treatments in my dermatologist’s office, I underwent an extensive chemotherapy program using a topical chemical agent to remove the cancer. The effect of the chemical agent was to raise the cancer cells to the surface of the skin in a flaming blister (i.e. third degree burns) which were to then heal removing the cancer cells.
I work in a highly public role as a front supervisor of the concierge service in a local hotel. While undergoing the chemotherapy, I applied the Lycogel foundation to cover the redness and blisters. Not only was the foundation effective in covering the burned flesh, it also aided the healing of my skin! The Lycogel foundation allows oxygen to move freely through it to allow healing .The foundation went on very light and airy and I was able to apply it easily without pain.
During this time, my oldest son was serving with the Army National Guard in Iraq with an Infantry unit. My son was repeatedly wounded in combat action, and on November 14th suffered a major injury due to an improvised explosionary device. I had not told him that I was undergoing the chemotherapy while he was in the combat zone, but knew he would find out when he saw my face.
When I visited my son in the Army hospital, he did not see the extent of the burns until I had to remove the foundation to apply another chemical treatment. He was surprised at the extent of the chemical burns that had been so easily covered and asked what had happened to me.
Without the Lycogel Dermacia foundation, I would not have been able to face the public on my job, and I could not have used any other foundation during the treatment. My dermatologist was pleased with the healing process. Thank you so much for a terrific product that really saved me from embarrassment and pain!
Sincerely,
